Mounting duty day falls on my birthday. Happy or sad ? I felt neither, just hope that won't get tau pok in camp haha.
20th birthday spent in Raffles Town Club. Sinfully delicious food coupled with festive season songs, it makes the dinner an exceptionally wonderful one. 20 years old marks the end of my teenage years as I step into adulthood and more importantly, it's my ORD year!
About 6-7 more months later, I'm going to retire and take On Job Trainees(OJT) for 2-3 months and it's my ORD. It's the job of every retiring platoon sergeant. This is the only perk so far I can foresee for my position. Once the OJT admin stuff is settled, it's almost like ORD because every other day I just need to show my face. Hopefully, higher management don't add in new roles and responsibilities, if not I might as well control my own platoon.
Yup, new year I would say is rather a good one though I was in camp for the eve and first day of CNY. 7 days straight off was compensated. Good deal indeed. Only thing sad is that SSC 10 enhanced batch has already ORDed. I would say there are really a few very nice guys in this batch, but rotten eggs overwhelmed in this batch. Wish the rest quickly ORD and the discipline is bound to improve for the platoon.
